There isn't a more classic shape in our catalog than the Blackfencer Longsword. It's our second best-selling sword (after the Standard Federschwert), and for good reason. The swelled grip, pinned-through guard, and Blackfencer's specially selected nylon make this the best synthetic longsword you can buy!
Our #1 selling sword! This classic training shape and design of the Blackfencer Federschwert has been around for centuries. The synthetic blade has the same balance, flex, and weight as a thin steel blade. It is also highly durable, with almost no reported failures.

Cold Steel Rondel Dagger Trainer
We used Cold Steel's training bowies and other hard rubber training knives for years, and after several rounds of begging, Lynn Thompson of Cold Steel made rondels for us.
The blade offers a high level of flex near the tip while remaining strong near the hand. Most HEMA rondel techniques work great. A few techniques that require stiffness along the whole blade will not, but that's the trade-off for having the safety of the flex.
Some people find the decorative points on the hilt to be a little scratchy (the wooden prototype had rounded points but this got simplified in the computer model for the mold). One minute with a file will soften these a lot though.
Blackfencer Katana (With Edge Shape)
We still need to measure these out, but they look and feel great! The edge-shaped models are a little longer than the fuller models.
Based on a Brown Bess Musket (a historical training tool), this synthetic musket and flexible bayonet is a unique offering created by South Coast Swords and Blackfencer. The musket has sufficient weight to mimic the handling of an original, without being abusive if an accidental butt strike lands. A piece of metal (not included) can also be strapped to the rifle portion to reach the appropriate historical weight. The bayonet offers exceptional flex, and is pre-drilled with a pin to hold it in place. The bayonet may also be removed for ease of storage.
